Match Preview
Sarawak vs Misc MIFA
Sarawak will go against Premier League newcomer, Misc MIFA at the State Stadium tonight. This will be the first encounter between both teams. Newly promoted MIFA recently sprung an upset by beating favourites JDT II 5-3 on Friday, with their foreign import, Cameroon’s Tagne Foruieng Bodric Dmitri scoring 4 goals. Currently, MIFA sits seventh after 4 matches, with one win and 3 losses. So far, they managed to scored 9 goals ( all from their foreign imports, Tagne(4), Micheal Ijezie(3) and Alan Aciar). However, they have also let in 11 goals, joint with Sabah as the most scored against team in the MPL.

MIFA have some notable players in their side like former international, player/coach K. Nathakumar and ex-Sarawak A Varathan. Their 4th import is Indonesian midfielder, Steven Imbiri. The team is coached by experienced Jacob Joseph, assisted by Leong Hong Seng.

Meanwhile, the home team, managed to snatched their 1st win of the season against Penang at their home den at Batu Kawan last saturday. Match winner Mark Hartmann will again be partnered with fellow striker, Matteo Roskam to spearhead the attacking line. Hopefully, the injured players have fully recovered and ready to play for the match. Coach David might spring a few surprises by fielding some reserved players like veteran keeper Aidil Mohamed, Ramesh Lai and newcomers Izzray Roslan but the rest should be retain.
On paper, Sarawak may have the upper hand, starting the match as marginally favourites but MIFA, are brimming with confidence after beating JDT II. Neither team will want a draw and a costly replay, so both should be going all out for the win. This is a crucial part of the season for both teams and both would fancy their chances of winning this match.
