MSL 2017 : Sarawak vs JDT Match Preview

MSL 2017- MD7
Sarawak vs JDT
Sarawak will lock horns against defending champions JDT at the State Stadium tonight.

Surprisingly JDT are currently positioned 5th place in the league after winning 2, drawing 2 and 1 lost but with a game in hand. Despite losing some first team players like Jorge Pereyra, Safee Sali, Zaquan Adha, Nazrin Nawi, Amri Yahyah and Jasazrin Jamaluddin, they have managed to secure new players like striker Ahmad Hazwan Bakri , Safawi Rasid, Haziq Nazli, Darren Lok and Nazmi Faiz into their squad.

Under new coach, Benjamin Mora, they have also engaged new foreign players Gabriel Guerra, Brian Ferrera and Gonzalo Cabrera. Guerra scored his first hat-trick for JDT to defeat T-Team 3-0 at the Larkin Stadium recently.

Meanwhile, home team Sarawak, fresh from their recent away win against PKNS FC are chasing for their first home win of the season at the State Stadium. The Crocs were impressive against PKNS FC away from home last weekend, with Mateo Roskam, Mark Hartmann and Hafiz Abu Bakar all finding the back of the net. Hartmann excelled in a withdrawn role against PKNS and could again be used in that position to maximize his increasingly lethal shots from distance.

The match will also expect to feature the return of ex- Sarawak players Junior Elsdtal and S Chanturu.
For Sarawak, a win could move them up as high as 5th, bringing them further away from the relegation zone.

H2H:
Last year in the MSL, JDT beat Sarawak 5-2 at home and 2-1 at the State Stadium. In 2015, JDT had another 100% record by winning 2-0 in Kuching and 2-1 at Larkin. Both teams also met in the Malaysia Cup, where they drew 1-1 in Larkin but JDT won 3-0 in Kuching.
